..... Blackouts be damned!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of connecting across borders to deliver our negotiation workshop to the students at West Ukrainian National University (WUNU). Our goal is to provide the tools and techniques necessary to navigate complex negotiations confidently and effectively using our unique approach of "Purposeful Practice"

 


 

An Interactive Negotiation Course Delivery

This workshop was particularly special because it marks a significant collaboration between our team in the UK and Oksana Koval in Ukraine. Oksana, is the Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Communications for the West Ukrainian National University and proud owner of our translated ‘Training Set’ of Negotiation Cards.  She was facilitating the distribution of these cards on the ground, ensuring that each exercise is interactive and immersive.

A thousand miles away, yet the class was a chorus of laughter and learning.

 

Key Lessons from the Negotiation Workshop

1. Adaptability is Crucial:

Even with the threat of blackouts, we managed to deliver a seamless workshop. This highlights the importance of being prepared and adaptable in any negotiation scenario.

2. Local Collaboration Enhances Training:

Having Oksana on the ground to distribute the cards made a significant difference. It shows that collaboration with local partners can enhance the effectiveness of training sessions.

3. Engagement Across Distances:

Despite being miles away, the engagement and interaction from the students were phenomenal. This reaffirms that with the right tools and approach, distance is no barrier to effective learning.

4. The Power of Laughter and Learning:

The combination of laughter and learning created an energetic and positive environment. It underscores the importance of creating a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere in training sessions.

 

Beyond the Screen: The Realities of War in Ukraine

Despite the advancements in technology that allow us to deliver negotiation training anywhere in the world, we must not overlook the ongoing challenges and life-threatening dangers faced by those in Ukraine each day. The horrors of war continue unabated, impacting countless lives. It’s easy to be shielded from these realities by the very technology we celebrate, but we must remain vigilant and compassionate.

Ukraine needs our help and support now more than ever. Let us not forget what is happening on our doorstep and continue to offer our aid and solidarity to those enduring unimaginable hardships.
