It's been an amazing week... and I really mean that!

Between corporate clients, The University of Law and The Negotiation Centers 'Negotiation Competition' I've had 52 PROFESSIONALS and STUDENTS practice their negotiation skills on purpose, resulting in...

.... 113 actual negotiations!!!!

▶︎ INTERESTING FACT!
I was able to watch every single one of them, which I did standing up at my desk... hence my sore feet.

This is some serious negotiation-spectating stamina!

▶︎ NEGOTIATION CLUB MEETING
However, last night, I turned my spectator hat aside and dived headfirst into the action at The Negotiation Club (TNC) Members Night and ended up concluding 5 of my own negotiations with various club members while... still standing up🤪.

▶︎ PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!
Now, you might wonder, why did I go from watching to actively participating?
Well, even for us trainers, there comes a time when we need to "practice what we preach." It's fantastic to watch others negotiate and learn from their skills and techniques, but there's no substitute for rolling up your sleeves and getting in the ring yourself.

It's like being a chef who spends all day watching cooking shows but never actually tasting the dishes they've seen prepared. How can you truly understand the flavors, the textures, and the magic of the kitchen without getting your hands a little messy?

▶︎ WHY I WAS GREEDY
So, last night, I decided to be a bit greedy (in the best way possible, of course!) and practice my negotiation skills one-on-one with each of TNC Club members. It was a whirlwind of perspectives, strategies, and delightful surprises

I can't imagine a better way to learn and grow than this!

By the end of the night, I had tried out several different approaches, taking inspiration from what I had seen and experimenting with techniques I had been itching to try.

It's incredible how much you can learn and how much fun you can have when you immerse yourself in the art of negotiation.

In the end, if we can't do it ourselves, why would we tell others how to do it?

So, here's to a night of negotiation adventures and the joy of learning together!
