Imagine sitting in a job interview...

The interviewer asks:

β€œCan you give me an example of when you have negotiated with someone?”

Many graduates struggle to give a convincing answer.

As an APAC Negotiation Club member, you will have completed practical negotiations with students and professionals from around the world.

You will have real experiences to discuss.

Not just theory.
Not just something you read in a book.
Real practice.

Employers do not just recruit qualifications

Employers want people who can communicate effectively, think clearly and work confidently with others.

They look for people who can:

  • Communicate clearly
  • Ask good questions
  • Listen properly
  • Influence decisions
  • Solve problems
  • Think commercially
  • Work with different personalities
  • Remain calm under pressure

These are not skills you develop simply by listening to a lecture.

They improve when you have the opportunity to practise them, receive feedback and try again.

Practise alongside professionals

The APAC Negotiation Club is not a traditional student society.

You will join a professional practice community attended by people working in areas such as:

  • Procurement
  • Sales and business development
  • Law and legal services
  • Engineering
  • Project management
  • Consultancy
  • Leadership and management

This gives you the opportunity to practise with experienced professionals and learn from people already working in the types of roles you may want to pursue.

How the APAC Negotiation Club works

This is not a traditional course built around long lectures and theory.

It is a practical skills development club built around one simple principle:

Negotiation skills improve through practice.

During the meetings, you will take part in short, structured negotiation exercises. You may negotiate, observe other people, provide feedback and reflect on what made a difference.

The purpose is not to get everything right.

The purpose is to practise, make adjustments and become more confident each time.

Build a LinkedIn profile that stands out

Many students have similar qualifications and have attended similar lectures.

Far fewer can demonstrate that they regularly practise negotiation with professionals.

As a member, you can:

  • Add APAC Negotiation Club Member to your LinkedIn profile
  • Share reflections about the skills you are developing
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional development
  • Build relationships with experienced professionals
  • Create practical examples that can be discussed during interviews

After six months of active participation, The Negotiation Club can also provide a personalised LinkedIn recommendation recognising your commitment, participation and development.

This gives future employers evidence that you have done more than simply study negotiation.

Stand out from other graduates

Many graduates can say they attended a workshop about negotiation.

Far fewer can say:

β€œI regularly practise negotiation with professionals from around the world, receive feedback on my performance and reflect on how I can improve.”

That is a very different conversation to have with an employer.

You are not simply learning about negotiation.

You are actively developing the skill.

Skills that support almost every career

The skills developed through negotiation practice extend far beyond formal commercial negotiations.

Communication Active Listening Questioning Confidence Problem Solving Commercial Awareness Relationship Building Influencing Stakeholder Management

These capabilities are valuable in virtually every profession.

Confidence comes from doing

Nobody becomes a confident communicator simply by reading a book.

You improve by practising, making mistakes, receiving feedback and trying again.

That is exactly what the club helps you to do.
