There are generally no age restrictions, although some clubs may impose a minimum age requirement (perhaps 16 yrs) to ensure any topics discussed are appropriate for membership.

If you are interested on behalf of a school or college, then we would be pleased to help you set up an exclusive club for your students.

No matter what experience or qualifications you have, negotiation is a universal skill, and our club encourages everyone to develop it.

For this reason a club membership does not require any qualifications or prior experience.... just a willingness to practice.

Zoom is the platform used for all negotiation clubs.

Here are some things you should consider:

• The connection to the Internet is good,

• You have your camera turned on,

• Your microphone works well,

• A distraction-free environment exists.

In this way, you will be able to practice more effectively.

In life, participation is more important than non-participation. It is for this reason that we encourage as much regular attendance as possible.

As negotiation requires collaboration between individuals, it is far more important that members use the membership forum to indicate their attendance in advance.

Detailed information about future club meetings is available in the Membership Forum, where members can register their attendance or not. In this way, the club's objectives can be achieved and active participation can be ensured.

As of now the current negotiation clubs do not require an application or nomination process although this may change in the future.

You are however highly encouraged to participate in at least one of the monthly negotiation Taster sessions. These taster sessions provide a thorough introduction to using negotiation cards and learning how to practice your negotiation skills.

It is possible to attend a negotiation meeting as a guest to see what actually happens, and even ask questions to the other members.
 

There is a membership subscription for all Negotiation Clubs, which varies according to the club.

There is a membership subscription page that contains the actual membership fees.

Detailed information regarding membership conduct and inappropriate behavior will be included in the Club Constitution for each club.

A code of conduct or set of rules is intended to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for all members of the club in addition to promoting positive interaction among them.

It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with this document as it pertains to the club in which you are a member.

Negotiation clubs primarily serve as a forum for members to practice their negotiation skills. In other words, club meetings will be scheduled regularly and details will be posted within the TNC community. In spite of the fact that attendance is not mandatory, you are highly encouraged to attend and you are able to register your intention to attend in advance.

There may also be other events and activities such as:

• Expert Presentations
• Informative Webinars
• Club Committee Meetings
• Competitions

Club meetings may vary but each club will run 1 or 2 structured practice meetings each month.

Other meetings can be arranged on an adhoc basis.

All TNC Clubs meet online using Zoom.  Please ensure your have a good internet connection, a working camera and a suitable microphone.

The club encourages members to arrange their own practice meetings and discuss with each other how to construct a theme for one of its official meetings, such as:

• Brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for negotiations
• Role-playing exercises to practice negotiation strategies
• Debates on current negotiation topics
• Workshops on negotiation techniques
• Lectures from experienced negotiators
• Group discussions on negotiation case studies
• Networking events to connect with other negotiators
• Social gatherings to build relationships and trust

You are encouraged to participate in and enjoy competitions as they are a fantastic way of testing your skills.

Competitions between members, between clubs, or even external competitions could be an option.

In some competitions, the individual is the only participant. In addition to this, practicing in your own club as a team is a wonderful way to succeed when it comes to team negotiations.

Furthermore, it provides an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from all over the world as well as enhance your skill set.

There are 2 forms of Club Management:

A Single Club Owner

This is an individual who has full responsibility for the coordination and administration of the club.

Club Committee Members

Where a club has a Club Committee the roles and responsibilities for managing and coordinating the club is separated amongst Committee Members.  These are members who have been nominated/voted into positions at the Club AGMs.

This can vary between clubs.

Simple Club Structure

A simple club structure will include a "Club Owner" and "Club Members".

Larger Club Structure

As clubs grow they may develop a Club Committee with Committee Members taking individual responsibilities.

Committee Members may also enjoy reduced membership fees and extra "kudos" to showcase on their CV.

Clubs are there to be a friendly, safe place to practice negotiation skills.  As such the decisions are often informal discussions that can be raised at the ned of the club meetings or by separate discussions.

In some clubs there will also be an Annual General Meeting (AGM) where more significant decisions are made by corum.

These clubs are run for the members by the members with any and all contributions welcome.

Each club has their own TNC Community Message Boards (Circle).

Additional announcements may be 'broadcast' through the TNC Community site.

Some clubs will have their own webpage to share details.

Each Club has it's ownTNC Community "Circle" which allow members to communicate with one another.

There are also Open "Circles" where club members can post messages, discuss topics or arrange practice sessions beyond the structure of the clubs.
