Negotiation Skills Workshop; Achievement Recognition
Successfully completed at Nottingham Trent Law School
This page recognises the successful completion of an intensive, practice-based negotiation workshop delivered in person at Nottingham Trent Law School. This was not a passive learning experience... it required active participation, decision-making under pressure, and the application of negotiation techniques in real-time scenarios.
About the Workshop
This full-day negotiation workshop was designed to develop practical negotiation capability through structured exercises, live role-play, and team-based negotiation scenarios.
Delivered in person at Nottingham Trent Law School, the workshop focuses on applied skill development rather than theory alone, ensuring participants experience negotiation rather than simply learning about it.
Skills Demonstrated and Developed
- Practical Negotiation Execution – Participated in multiple live negotiation scenarios requiring real-time thinking and decision-making.
- Team Negotiation Skills – Worked within structured team roles, contributing to strategy, communication, and alignment under pressure.
- Use of Negotiation Tactics – Applied specific techniques such as questioning, anchoring, summarising, and conditional proposals.
- Observation and Feedback – Analysed negotiations (both own and others) to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Communication Under Pressure – Practised maintaining clarity and control during fast-paced negotiation exchanges.
"In theory, theory and practise are the same.
In practise they are not."
How These Skills Were Developed
Unlike traditional training programmes, this workshop was built around practice-led learning.
- Short, structured negotiation exercises
- Realistic role-play scenarios
- Use of Negotiation Cards to simulate commercial variables
- Immediate feedback following each exercise
- Opportunities to repeat and refine techniques
This approach ensures that participants move beyond awareness and begin developing real behavioural capability in negotiation.
What This Achievement Represents
Completion of this workshop demonstrates more than attendance. It indicates that the individual has:
- Actively practised negotiation in realistic scenarios
- Developed confidence in communication and decision-making
- Experienced both successful and challenging negotiation outcomes
- Received structured feedback to support improvement
These are practical, transferable skills that apply across legal, commercial, and professional environments.
